I've always found it easier to write my thoughts than say them out loud—there's often a gap between what I'm thinking and what actually comes out when I speak. When I discovered AI tools, it felt like finding a translator for my own thoughts. They help me articulate ideas I've had all along but couldn't quite express.
That's what made emellowblend possible. I started emellowblend during a time when I was looking for connection but didn't have the energy for typical social media or coordinating in-person meetups. At the same time, I wanted to keep my coding skills sharp and explore working with AI tools, so this became my project—building a different kind of community. One that's mellow, yet genuine and authentic. Something for people who want to take their time with things, who appreciate thoughtful discovery over quick scrolls—wanting to meet people through shared interests, to discover new things and realize 'oh, someone else loves this too!' To build something that happens from the comfort of your own space.
Email felt like the perfect choice. You already have it, you actually check it, and it's already part of your routine—no new apps or platforms to manage. It's personal without being invasive, gives everyone time to think before responding, and you can share thoughts without worrying about your entire network seeing them.
I use AI tools to help me build and maintain this—from coding to research, organizing, and writing things—but every choice about what gets shared comes from someone who genuinely cares about making this a place where people feel good about sharing what they love.
I hope you can feel that care in how we handle what people share and in the way this little community treats everyone who's part of it.
